Puerta del Sol is one of the busiest areas of Madrid, being the Km 0 of the radial road network of the country. In some aspects, the place is similar to Times Square of New York, as the annual New Year’s Eve is televised from here since 1962. Here you can find the clock that marks the beginning of the year, when the traditional twelve grapes are eaten.

In the beginning, when Madrid was a walled city, Puerta del Sol was one of its gates, this happening around the 15th century. There are numerous monuments that you can visit here, including the bear and the Madrono Tree, which is Madrid’s heraldic symbol.

You can spend a lot of time here and you can also visit the square during nighttime, when a lot of bars and discos begin their activity.

A metro station private://Metro Solprivate:// lies right underneath the square, served by lines 1,2, and 3.

Located four kilometres (two-and-a-half miles) from the village of Mijanès, on the sides of Canrusc mountain between 1500 and 2000 meters high, the winter ski resort of Mijanès - Donezan is a real alternative to the next big resorts.

Linked to La Molina in the Arc 2500 area and close to the French and Andorran borders, Masella is located on the northern slope of Tosa d'Alp overlooking the Cerdanya Valley. It is located only 90 minutes from Barcelona.

Multi-sports centre with skiing for all abilities, backed up by a dry slope. Amongst the numerous sporting alternatives there are football and tennis courts, karting, mountain biking and a swimming pool.
