The Palace Square has been the central point of St. Petersburg since the city was built. On this place many significant events happened, including the October Revolution that changed the modern world. It’s located between the Hermitage and the Nevsky Prospect, near the river Neva. On the central part of the square is the Alexander Column, a magnificent monument to the Russian victory over Napoleon’s forces.

In the modern days, the square serves as the central point of both tourists and the citizens of St. Petersburg. The Palace Square hosted many cultural exhibitions, most importantly the concert of the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Madona, Andrea Bocelli, etc.

Getting there: 

Almost every metro and bus line in the central area operates near the Palace Square. The closest subway station is Admiralteyskaya.

The Palace Square is a public area and even the concerts held here are free for everyone.

Heramaanjärvi is a rugged lake in Kangasala, 27km from Tampere. In Finnish standards, it´s water is clear with visibility from 4 to 10 meters. Popular among scuba divers for underwater filming and underwater wildlife watching.

Valkiajärvi is popular among scuba divers due to the very good visibility and lively lake life. The visibility is typically over 10 meters and can be up to 30 meters on the best days.

The water of the Sonnanen lake is unusually clear and according to some, it is the second clearest lake in Finland. Sonnanen is popular among freedivers and the world record under ice free diving has been made here.

Sääksjärvi is actually based on a spring that has formed a lake in a kettle hole.

Located in Hollola, Kiikunlähde is a rare sight in Finnish nature, a turquoise lake! It is 400m long and 100m wide and all of the water comes from the springs in the bottom.
