The main airport to Helsinki. Helsinki Airport is the home airport of Finnair which is mostly concentrated on Asian traffic and feeders from Europe. Being designed for transit, the facilities here are pretty good.

SLEEPING:
Sleeping on the benches of the terminal is possible while the airport is open 24h. If you prefer hotel, there are two nearby:
• Hotel GLO Helsinki Airport - located inside Terminal 2
• Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport - connected to the terminal by a covered walkway. 3 minute walk to the terminal.

• LUGGAGE STORAGE / LOCKERS Lockers are available. Rate: EUR 4 per day
• ATMS / CASH MACHINES there are atms on landside and on airside.
• CHILDREN'S PLAY ROOM There are two playrooms that feature toys, pens and paper, videos, microwave oven as well as baby changing facilities and a children's bed. Locations: Airside, Gate 20 and Gate 16. Hours: open 24 hours.
• SPA Finnair Spa & Saunas features 4 saunas, mineral water pool and number of different treatments designed especially for wellness of travellers. Location: Airside, Gate 36. Hours: 10am-11pm
• CAR RENTALS Avis • Budget • Europcar • Hertz • Sixt. Location: Landside, corridor between Terminals 1 and 2

Helsinki Airport is situated about half an hour from the centre of Helsinki by road (19 km). The directional signs at the airport area help you to find the right way.

BUS
The Finnair bus connection is very easy and pretty cheap. It leaves from ”Elielinaukio” (next to central station) in Helsinki with following schedules:
Every day from city to airport : 9:10; 9:30; 9:50; 10:10; 10:30; 10:50 etc. etc.
And the schedules from airport to city:
Every day from airport to city: 9:00; 9:20; 9:40; 10:00; 10:20; 10:40 etc. etc.
Helsinki puplic transport buses also take you to the airport. These are a bit cheaper and a bit slower. From Helsinki no. 615 during daytime and no. 620N during night time. From Tikkurila you can take bus 61.
TAXI
The taxi journey from the airport to the centre of Helsinki takes nearly half an hour and costs about 35-40 €. The taxi stations are located right outside the arrival areas of the terminals.

Finnair city bus costs 6,2€. Helsinki public transport buses are around 4,5€. Taxi is around 35-40€.

Interesting places nearby

private://The beach consists of five pristine coves that form a natural oasis of silver sand and crystal clear turquoise waters.

private://The best beach in Sardinia? Many think that this is indeed the best beach in Sardinia but this is number two on my list. It is a little difficult to reach, more details as to how to get here further on.

Cala Fuili, is located on the coast of Cala Gonone a little before the beach of Cala Luna and the grotte del Bue Marino.

private://Cala Mariolu overlooks the Gulf of Orosei and it is situated in Punta Ispuligi (Baunei).

Another candidate as the best beach in Sardinia and indeed one of Italy’s best beaches. The beach has white stones mixed to sand, and it offers an amazing view the Punta Goloritzè peak.

Porto Pollo is the best spot in Sardinia for watersports like windsurfing and kitesurfing.
