General info:

Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in North America. It is made up of three separate falls Upper Yosemite Fall (1,430 ft), the middle cascades (675 ft), and Lower Yosemite Fall (320 ft). The total 2,425 feet (739 m) from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall qualifies Yosemite Falls as the seventh highest waterfall in the world.

Yosemite Falls is at its best in the late spring when the water flow is at its peak. Once all of the snow in the high country has melted away, Yosemite Falls becomes only a trickle and is often dry by August.

If you are visiting in the wintertime, you will see the famous private://snow coneprivate:// that forms at the base of the upper fall in winter.

Getting there:

You can see Yosemite Falls from numerous places around Yosemite Valley, especially around Yosemite Village and Yosemite Lodge. To get a closer view, there is an easy 1-mile Lower Yosemite Falls loop trail that will take you to the base of the falls. You can access the trail at Yosemite shuttle stop #6 or across the street from Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.

You can also go to the very top by taking the Upper Yosemite Falls trail that begins near Yosemite shuttle stop, but make sure you’re prepared as this is a strenuous, day-long hike.

There is only entrance fee to the Yosemite National Park. The fees are:
Vehicle Pass - valid 1 through 7 Day(s) - $30
