Wintergreen Resort is an 11,000-acre, four-season resort located in the Blue Ridge Mountains southwest of Charlottesville, Va. The area offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing, as well as championship golf once the snow melts. Ski slopes range from the double black Cliffhanger to Diamond Hill, for beginners. There is an onsite spa and excellent restaurants. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy 129 acres of skiable terrain and a summit elevation of 3,515 feet. The resort is located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway in Central Virginia near Charlottesville, just 90 minutes from Richmond. If you're not skiing or playing in the terrain park, take The Plunge - a 900 foot, 10-lane mega snowtubing hill, located in the Discovery Ridge adventure area. There is 100 percent snowmaking.
