Vemdalen is located in the central part of Sweden, only 500 km from the capital, Stockholm. Vemdalen consists of the 3 skiing areas Björnrike, Vemdalsskalet and Klövsjö/Storhogna, which offer a total of 30 ski lifts and 51 runs with drops up to 440 m. The 3 ski areas offer very varied skiing, and they all feature a snow park. Vemdalen has excellent facilities for Nordic skiing, with 70 km of prepared Nordic tracks connecting the 3 areas, as well as more than 180 km of tracks in the nearby area.

There is chairlift access to the skiing from both sides of the mountain. In Bischofsgrun there are three lifts serving trails with lighting for night skiing, and two with snow-making.
