The Purple Pig is one of the most famous restaurants in Chicago. Located on The Magnificent Mile in Downtown Chicago, it is a collaboration of Chefs Scott Harris, Tony Mantuano, Jimmy Bannos and Jimmy Bannos Jr. Featuring house made charcuterie, cheeses and classic Mediterranean fare plus an extensive yet accessible wine list. Their menu includes irresistible starters and main dishes such as: pork fried almonds, broccoli with roasted garlic, various salads and soups, chorizo stuffed olives, Catalonian fuet or the famous Purple Pig Platter.

You can ski every night of the week at Marquette Mountain (and days too, of course) over 144 acres of terrain. The vertical is 650 feet. A back country ski zone is fun for advanced skiers and boarders.

Mount Ripley in Hancock has a 430 foot vertical on more than 100 acres. It's small and pleasant.

Loch Lomond Ski Area offers skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. The resort is 10 minutes from Thunder Bay off of Highway 61 North.

Lutsen is quadruple the size of most Great Lakes ski resorts. With four peaks, more than 1,000 acres, a nearly 900-foot vertical drop, 90 runs, and the region’s only gondola, it’s a legitimate ski area.

Mad River Mountain is Ohio's largest ski resort, located only a short drive from Columbus, Dayton, and Lima in Zanesfield, Ohio. The resort opened in 1962 and will begin the 50th season of operations this season.
