Sun Valley is an original, one of the originators of the American Ski Resort. The place that put skiing on the map with the world's first chairlift in 1936. Sun Valley offers a classic ski culture that everyone can enjoy. Sun Valley boasts two well-known and excellent ski and ride mountains, Bald Mountain and Dollar Mountain. Baldy offers expert skiers and snowboarders a variety of challenging bowls and glades off the peak, while Dollar is a beginner's dream with gentle, perfectly groomed slopes. To enjoy the total Sun Valley experience, one must stay at the famed Sun Valley Lodge. This is where filmmaker Warren Miller slept in his trailer in the parking lot, stole oyster crackers from the kitchen, and began his amazing career.
