The place on 640 metres above the sealevel has got 2300 inhabitants, farmed alms, the climbing-paradise Wilder Kaiser, the myth-enshrouded Teufelsgasse (Devils alley) at the Hinterberg in Gasteig, and also numerous winter-trekking ways. The skiing area St. Johann in Tirol/Kirchdorf offers easy to medium slopes, which are very suitable for beginners and families.
