General info:

Unlike in traditional zoos where the day-night cycle of animals has been reversed, Night Safari gives the chance to see what the night animals are really up to during nighttime.

The Night Safari currently houses over 2,500 animals representing over 130 species, of which 38% are threatened species. The consept is pretty interesting and you can either walk around the three trails or you can take the tram. The tram takes you past tigers, elephants, anteaters and lions, and some of the species often sidle up close to the tram.

Right next door, but completely separate from the Night Safari is the Singapore Zoo. It is a more traditional zoo where animals roam in their man made natural habitats during daytime. Here you´ll see around 315 species including tigers, elephants, orang utangs, hippos and polar bears.

Animals are displayed in spacious, landscaped 'open' exhibits with hidden barriers moats or glass separating them from the visitors.
