General info:

Situated close to the Ecrins national park, the Serre Chevalier valley is made up of Briançon (a world heritage city declared by UNESCO) and 3 other villages Saint-Chaffrey/Chantemerle, Villeneuve / La Salle les Alpes and Monetier Les Bains. With 250 km of marked ski pistes the Serre Chevalier Valley is the no.1 non-linked ski area in France. There are ski slopes suitable for all snow sports, skiing through either the large natural gulley's or exploring the huge larch forests. The high alpine area is renowned for its off-piste and every aspect of this ski resort give the town a sporty and fun reputation. There different zones in the ski area where skiers can learn about the various dangers in the mountains. The Arva Park allows budding off-piste skiers a training area for the use of avalanche transceivers. It's worth a note that in Serre Chevalier the ski runs are left in their raw state after a snowfall. There is minimal grooming of the snow, allowing powder skiers to make the most of their day in safe and natural conditions. A true taste of the backcountry. Finally, there is an area which is dedicated to snowboarding, friendly and safe, its right in the middle of the ski area, between the snow park and the border cross course. The area is finished off by the private://cool zoneprivate:// with music and a barbeque. Serre Chevalier Valley also has a wellness centre, Les Grands Bains, a 4500m2 expanse dedicated to ‘relaxation' and aesthetics. The centre has interior and exterior thermal baths that rest at a very pleasant 44 ° C. In the Serre Chevalier valley, visitors can combine skiing and mountain activities with cultural activities: discover of the local sundials, the churches, chapels and religious heritage, the Sacred Art Museum, music festivals and the private://Snow Cultureprivate:// tour in which people can learn about the local history, cultural events, art, nature and the local population, all in a very original way. As a private://Family Plusprivate:// certified ski resort, the Serre Chevalier valley is a stress free place to holiday with the family.
