General info:

Val Gardena is one of the most important ski areas in the Dolomites. It's divided into 3 resorts (in the radius of only 8 km), which offer a vast array of sports, artistic and cultural activities against a backdrop of amazing natural beauty. The towns Ortisei (1236 m), Santa Cristina (1428 m) and Selva Gardena (1563 m) are all between 1200 and 1700 m in altitude, while the surrounding alpine meadows and ski slopes go above 2500 m. The highest peak in the area is 3181 m. This valley is well-known not only because it attracts a lot of ski tourism, but because it has a rich tradition of hosting numerous international sports events, like the Alpine Ski World Cup. Thanks its close proximity to the Dolomiti Superski ski area and the nearby Alpe di Siusi, Val Garden is considered a true paradise for winter sports lovers. There are slopes for all ability levels - from easy to extremely difficult - thanks to nearly 175 km of interconnected slopes served by more than 80 ski lifts. And for cross country ski lovers there are 115 km of trails. And if this wasn't enough, it's also possible to stay in one of the romantic malga, or shepherd's huts, which characterize the area.
