General info: 

The airport is very close to the center of Pisa (1.5km). If you happen to have a late arrival and early departure and are planning to overnight at the airport, note that the airport closes between 1am and 4am and the building needs to be empty.

FROM THE AIRPPORT TO PISA:
Rail: The railway station is next to the terminal and can be accessed via a covered walkway. Services run to Pisa Centrale and Florence (Firenze SMN), with eight trains daily.
Bus: Bus 1 makes several stops in the city centre. The service leaves just outside the Arrivals hall and from the Cassa Parcheggi outside the Departures hall. Buses leave for the town centre every 10 minutes. There are also daily services to Siena and Livorno.
Taxi: CO.TA.PI (Pisa taxi cooperative) operates Radio Taxi (tel: (050) 541 600), which runs a 24-hour taxi service from the airport. CO.TA.PI also offers a collective taxi, which runs to the Pisa Centrale railway station and Ospedale Santa Chiara (for the leaning tower of Pisa), for a flat rate fare (€5-7). The journey to the centre of Pisa typically takes 10 minutes.

FACILITIES
• Money: A bank, a currency exchange desk and a post office are all available at the airport. There are Internet points in both Departures and Arrivals.

• Food: There is a bar on the ground floor and on the first floor, there is one self-service restaurant and one pizzeria.

• Shopping: The shopping area, La Corte, has over 20 shops.

• Luggage: A left-luggage service is available at the information office . A porter service is available.

• Conference and business: The Galilei Business Centre (tel: (050) 849 200) has one meeting room which can hold up to 50 people and two smaller rooms which can accommodate up to 10 people.

• Car parking: There are both short- and long-term car parks at the airport, with space for 1,200 vehicles. Parking is free of charge for the first 30 minutes in P2.

• Car rental: Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Maggiore/National, Sixt and Thrifty are all represented at the airport, with desks in the Arrivals area. Europcar and Sixt also offer chauffeur-driven cars.

• Information: The airport information desk in the Arrivals hall (tel: (050) 849 300), can provide information on flights as well as tourist information. Rail and bus tickets can also be bought here.

Getting there: 

For public transport, see above “FROM THE AIRPORT TO PISA” and operate backwards. If you come by own car, the airport can be easily reached from Pisa center. If you are coming from Genoa, Leghorn or Florence directions the airport is easily reached from the A12 motorway and the Livorno-Pisa-Florence dual carriageway. Airport access is at the Pisa Centro exit, or the A11 motorway through Pisa Nord to link with the A12 for the Pisa Centro exit.

Huanghshan is considered the Number One Mountain Under Heaven by the Chinese people. For anyone who has hiked up the mountains it will be hard to disagree.

This archipelago offers an unspoilt nature, stunning views, friendly people, and nearly anything else you need to feel completely away from this world.

One of the best day trips in Alghero is to see the Grotta di Nettuno stalactite caves west of the town.
