General info:

When we talk about the Pergamon Muesum, we can surely say that this is a not to be missed attraction. Situated on the Museum Island in Berlin, it was designed by Alfred Messel and Ludwig Hoffmann whilst its construction lasted for twenty years, from 1910 to 1930.

It includes an extensive collection of sculptures, reconstructions of archaeological buildings and classical antiquities that are subdivided into the Antiquity Collection, the Middle East Museum and the Museum of Islamic Art. Among the pieces in display, there are the Pergamon Altar, the Market Gate of Miletus, the Ishtar Gate and the Mshatta Facade. The Antiquity Collection is one of the highlights of the museum and features sculpture from archaic to Hellenistic ages as well as artwork from Greek and Roman ages including pottery, mosaics, jewels and bronzes.
