Today, Navy Pier is Chicago's number one attraction offering sightseeing tours, dinner cruises on the ships the Spirit of Chicago, The Odyssey II and the Mystic Blue. The fireworks show takes place on Wednesday and Saturday nights during the summer and Saturday nights during the fall. There is also a shopping area and a Children Museum or musical carousel for children.

The popular Strictly Sail boat show and Chicago Flower and Garden Show are also held at the Pier as well as many other fairs and expositions throughout the year.
