General info:

Nanda Blue Hole is the most stunning blue hole in Vanuatu. The water of this natural spring is so magically deep blue that has to be seen to be believed.

The water flows to the spring through underground limestone caves. As the water in a blue hole is filtered underground through limestone it becomes close to pure. This combined with the depth of the blue hole, create the luminous blue colour. At its deepest, the blue hole is about 13m deep.

The spring is owned by a local family that has developed some rustic facilties that fit in with the rainforest surrounding. There is a large under cover area, a bar, picnic area, waterslide and a rope swing with a platform.

Getting there:

The Nanda Blue Hole is located half way between Luganville and Champagne Beach not far from several resorts including Turtle Bay Lodge and Oyster Island Resort.
Address: Nanda Blue Hole, East Coast Road, Natawa, Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu
Distance from Luganville: 27km
Distance from Champagne Beach: 24km

The best form of transport to the blue hole is by taxi from a nearby resort, on an organised tour.

Costs:

The entry fee is 500vuv per person (about AUD$5.00).
The fee includes a complimentry coconut to drink. The money goes to improving facilities and protecting the Blue Hole, as well as providing an income for the local owners.
