General info:

Morillon it's the choice between two little villages interlinked by a ski slope and a 10-seater ultra-fast gondola: - Firstly, the traditional village of Morillon which is home to 500 permanent residents. It is situated in the valley with easy access to the ski slopes and the Nordic area. The village has every amenity that a holiday maker could need. - Up above, the resort of Morillon, built specifically for skiing. It is made up of a collection of chalet style accommodation which is harmoniously integrated into the wooded area of the Esserts Plateau. Here as well, there are all the shops and amenities that a holiday maker will need. Skiing in Morillon is divided into two areas: - The ski area private://Massifprivate:// which includes Morillon, Samoëns, Les Carroz and Sixt Fer à Chaval has 145 km of marked ski runs. - The ski area private://Grand Massifprivate:// which includes the resort of Flaine on top of the “Massif” it has 265 km of marked ski runs. 265 km of skiing, 79 ski lifts and over 1800 metres of vertical descent make up the Grand Massif ski area. In Morillon, the gateway to the Grand Massif, skiing is a living tradition that has been cultivated overtime and through countless winters. Whether you are a beginner or pro, mad for skiing or crazy for snowboarding the Grand Massif is the place to get your kicks. For cross country skiing there are two choices, 5km away from each other, at the top and at the bottom of the mountain. This is important to know if cross country skiing is your main activity. - If that's the case we recommend you stay in the bottom village of Morillon, where there a cross country tracks on the valley plains, which stretches to Sixt, totalling a loop of 50 km. -If you stay in Esserts, you will need to take the gondola to reach the cross country skiing. Morillon also has two snowshoe trails: - There is a path on the Charniaz plateau, leaving from Morillon 1100, heading up to the Esserts Plateau (Leave the car park opposite the main lifts at the bottom village. Duration 3h30, climbing: 160m. Fairly easy hiking) - From Morillon village (opposite the Lac Bleu. Duration 2h. Elevation: 95m. Easy hiking) Morillon also has things to excite the non-skiers. Activities such as ice skating, skijoring, dog sled rides, paragliding or even perhaps a helicopter flight over Mont Blanc... For the young and the old alike there is a range of events and activities that area organised in the village. Carnivals and torchlight parades down the ski slopes in the evenings will leave lasting memories for little ones, let alone their parents. For those passionate for sport and even those who aren't Morillon can offer a rich holiday, full of entertainment and pleasant surprises. As regards to child care, Morillon has the private://children's village.private:// This is a nursery / play centre welcoming children from 6 months to 10 years old. Nestled in an old completely restored farmhouse, it has a capacity of around 65 children. Away from the waves of skiers, but connected to the slope by a little track, the private://Children's Villageprivate:// provides safety and security in a pleasant setting amidst the Esserts forest.
