The area now known as Lincoln Park was primarily forest with stretches of grassland and occasional quicksand until the late 1820s when the Europeans arrived. Today Lincoln Park is a spectacular urban park and a great way to take a break from your downtown Chicago experience. It is full of activities including the Lincoln Park Zoo, Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Theatre on the Lake, a rowing canal, the Chicago History Museum, numerous playing fields, a famous statue of Abraham Lincoln and many other attractions. The guests will also find recreational facilities such as the Lincoln Park Cultural Center, Margate Fieldhouse and Clarendon Park.

Lincoln Park also has numerous restaurants and music venues (Park West, Lincoln Hall, Neo nightclub, Kingston Mines and B.L.U.E.S.) that will spice up your day.

Getting there: 

The Lincoln Park neighborhood is accessible via mass transit, including the CTA's Red, Brown and Purple lines at the Fullerton station, the Purple and Brown lines at the Armitage and Diversey stations, as well as CTA bus service.

Blue Knob offers 100 skiable acres, with a vertical of 1,072 feet. You will find 34 runs serviced by five lifts including two doubles, two triples and one surface lift. They offer 42 acres of night skiing.

Ontario's Blue Mountain has 900 skiable acres serviced by 12 lifts and is Ontario's largest mountain resort. It boasts a vertical of around 720 feet for skiing and riding.

Boston Mills and its sister resort, Brandywine, Ohio have a lift capacity of 20,000 people an hour. The lifts are synchronized to control the number of skiers on the slopes. The vertical is 240 feet.

Boyne Highlands offers the most vertical, longest runs, and steepest terrain around. There is a 552-foot vertical spread over 270 acres with plenty of lodging at the base. Ski or ride day or night.

Boyne is a long time favorite of Michgan skiers heading to the UP. There have been numerous upgrades the past few years. Virtually a new ski area has been created.
