The area now known as Lincoln Park was primarily forest with stretches of grassland and occasional quicksand until the late 1820s when the Europeans arrived. Today Lincoln Park is a spectacular urban park and a great way to take a break from your downtown Chicago experience. It is full of activities including the Lincoln Park Zoo, Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Theatre on the Lake, a rowing canal, the Chicago History Museum, numerous playing fields, a famous statue of Abraham Lincoln and many other attractions. The guests will also find recreational facilities such as the Lincoln Park Cultural Center, Margate Fieldhouse and Clarendon Park.

Lincoln Park also has numerous restaurants and music venues (Park West, Lincoln Hall, Neo nightclub, Kingston Mines and B.L.U.E.S.) that will spice up your day.

Getting there: 

The Lincoln Park neighborhood is accessible via mass transit, including the CTA's Red, Brown and Purple lines at the Fullerton station, the Purple and Brown lines at the Armitage and Diversey stations, as well as CTA bus service.
