With your skis on, you can ski from the village, exploring the forests and immense alpine meadows which lead on to the vast and magnificently beautiful Portes du Soleil ski area. The Portes du Soleil ski area is considered to be one of the largest in the world and links 12 different ski resorts, both in France and Switzerland, the area has over 650 km of marked ski runs. For the new generation of winter sports lovers there are two different zones set aside for you. On one side, Mont Chery with its ‘Gliss District' made up of a series of obstacles, jumps and rails. On the Other side the ‘Chavannes' boarder cross course is accessible for all skiers and snowboarders, whatever their ability. If downhill skiing isn't for you, make use of the ski lifts to go hiking or escape the stressful world on snowshoes. You can also try out cross country skiing, paragliding or dog sledding to name but a few of the activities available in Les Gets. Certified “Family Plus Mountain” in France, Les Gets has been recognised for the efforts which are made to welcome and accommodate children; it is an ideal place to holiday with the family. The special kids ski area “Territoire du Grand Cry” which has a cowboys and Indians theme, the ice rink or the specialised child care facilities make Les Gets a little paradise for kids.

The ski area Almenwelt LOFER, situated in Salzburg’s Saalachtal, has many well-groomed slopes to offer.

The ski area Alpbachtal offers very diverse slopes. If you spend your winter vacation in the Alpbachtal, you can also look forward to spacious freeride areas.

30 km of ski area with 16 trails at blue, red and black, school and reserved snow park area, slopes of all kinds and for all abilities.

Alpine Valley in Chesterfield probably gets more natural snowfall than any other ski area in Ohio and is the only one with wooded trails.

The ski area Flachau is a part of the Salzburger Sportwelt and is very well-known for it’s perfectly groomed and diverse pistes.

The ski resort of Flaine is a specially constructed town, dedicated to skiing.

Where skis throw up powder snow and strange ice crystals glisten cheerfully in the sun - that's where the holiday-maker in search of relaxation can make his own private rendezvous with nature even in the middle of winter.

A lively and attractive village with skiing at numerous small areas dotted around the heavily forested surrounding slopes in the 'Great Highlands of Trentino'.

A small, peaceful and friendly purpose-built centre with lifts linked to the first-rate Madonna di Campiglio. Local skiing is mostly pretty easy on North West facing slopes, although a mogul covered black runs beneath the gondola.

A small ski centre, purpose built in 1959, with a huge amount of cross-country ski terrain accessed from it. Facilities are limited, but this is a rare opportunity to discover an under-developed French ski centre.
