General info:

La Sagrada Família is still under the construction, but has been, for decades, the biggest tourist attraction of Barcelona. Designed by Gaudi, it is an impressive mixture of Gothic and Catalan national architecture. The construction began in 1882 and the completion is scheduled for 2026, the centennial of Gaudi’s death.

Antonio Gaudi pictured the basilica as an allegorical link between the Earth and the Heavens and that is the reason why he insisted on the height. Its highest spire should be more than 170 meters high. So far, of 18 planned spires, 8 are completed. When completed, La Sagrada Família will have 3 symbolic Façades, each representing a part from the life of Jesus.

Getting there:

Being the top spot for the tourists, La Sagrada Família is connected with the rest of the city by the Sagrada Família metro and bus station. The exact address of the church is Calle Mallorca, 401.

Costs:

Admission costs between €14.80 and €19.30. The church is the most visited site in Spain and because of that, it would be smart to get the tickets in advance. Otherwise, you’ll have to be patient, waiting in the queue.
