General info:

Helsinki has two ice hockey teams and two ice halls. This one is the older one and is home arena for HIFK ice hockey team. Often referred simply as “The old ice hall”, this one is considered to have better athmosphere in any of the events organised in here in comparison to the new bigger ice hall, Hartwall Arena. Maybe it´s true, maybe it´s just romanticizing.

The seat capacity of the Helsinki ice hall is 8,200 people. It used to be the main arena for all important ice sports events, as well as indoor arena concerts, but after the construction of Turkuhalli and Hartwall Areena, many events take place in the newer arenas.

Nevertheless the Helsinki Ice Hall still remains an active arena for concerts, conferences, expos and sports events.

Getting there:

From the center you can take trams 3T, 4, 7 or 10 to get close to Helsinki Ice Hall.

Costs:

Depending on the venue. For example tickets to HIFK ice hockey games vary from 11,5€ to 36€ depending on the seat.
