Golden Gate Park serves as a welcomed escape from the hectic concrete jungle and traffic of urban San Francisco. With its 1017 acres, it is larger than NY´s central park and gets around 13 million visitors every year.

With its lush California green the park attracts the city dwellers from kids to grandparents. The parks gardens, playgrounds, lakes, picnic groves and trails,are perfect for walking, jogging, having a picnic or simply spending time outdoors.

Main attractions of the park are Park Aquarium, De Young art Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, California Academy of Sciences, Koret Children’s Quarter, Conservatory of flowers, Strawberry hill, Beach and Park Chalet, Botanical garden, Buffalo Paddock, windmills and tulips.

Getting there: 

Golden Gate Park Shuttle:
The public bus transportation of San Francisco offers a Golden Gate Park shuttle that provides free service to passengers situated at one of 15 locations scattered about the park. This mode of transportation is available during the weekends and holidays, from 10am to 6pm until the middle of December.
