Freudenstadt is a major cross-country ski centre in the Black Forest, with two lifts locally. However a further down or so small drag lifts are located along the Schwarzwaldhofstrasse or Black Forest Road between 2 and 10km (1 - 7 miles) from the resort centre. Used partly to access cross-country terrain, and partly for limited downhill skiing and tobogganning, These lifts are not connected to one another, there are six toboggan runs in the area.

Interesting places nearby

The ski resort Meiringen-Hasliberg, situated between 1080 and 2344 meters of altitude, is especially suitable for families. You will mainly find slopes of moderate difficulty here.

The elegant town of Merano / Meran is linked by two-stage cable car to its own extensive ski area and is also on the 265km Ortler ski pass, which brings in another ten neighbouring centres.

Meribel (1,450m), a firm British favourite, is also known as ‘Little England upon the Alps’.

Right on the Swiss border and serving six traditional villages in the locality, this is a year-round multi-sports resort. There is a snowpark for boarders and night-skiing is possible several evenings per week.

Zar mountain has ski trail with length of 1600m is one of the longest ski slopes in the Beskid Mountains. Ski resort has artificial snow system, slopes are prepared every day. Lighting and sound system allows to ski to the late hours.
