Situated between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc the area is exceptional offering picture postcard scenery all around. Originally devised by Emile Allais, Flaines ski runs follow the natural contours of the mountain. They provide a wide variety of terrain for skiers, from beginner to expert. Several of the ski runs are also specially designed for beginners. They are accessible by 4 free ski lifts: The Pré drag or chairlift, the Bissac rope tow lift and the yogurt pot style lift in the Flaine Forum. Right from the top of Flaine skiers can discover the 14 km long blue run which follows the perimeter of the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval Nature Reserve.
