Durango Mountain Resort, known forever to locals only as private://Purgatory,private:// is a four-season resort bounded by spired peaks on three sides and high desert to the south. The Animas River bisects the town. This geographic alignment places Durango squarely in the middle of two weather systems with a track record of producing steady light snowfall followed by bluebird days. There is shuttle service from the town of Durango to the resort.
