If you want to know how it looked like to live in Berlin during the DDR period, this is the place. The DDR Museum is a well known museum in the centre of Berlin, located in the former governmental district of East Germany, right on the river Spree. Its exhibition shows the daily life in the Deutsche Demokratische Republik or DDR. It is a sort of interactive museum and one of the most-visited attractions in the German capital. Take a journey in time and see, touch, feel and experience the actual conditions of a long-defunct system accompanied by unique artifacts, futuristic technology and a prize-winning design.

You will find the DDR Museum in the City-Quartier DomAquarée, on the Spreepromenade.
S- and U-Bahnhof Alexanderplatz

Tramway: M5, M4, M6: Spandauer Straße station
And if you decide to visit Berlin by boat, get off at the DomAquarée landing stage.

Monday to Sunday: 10 am – 8 pm, Saturday: 10 am – 10 pm
The permanent exhibition is open seven days a week. These opening hours include holidays. The only exception is the 24th of December, when they close at 4 pm.

The Oberwiesenthal - Fichtelberg area, an attractive and unique area, favourably situated as regards transport facilities in the midst of Germany, offers a natural and varied countryside.

There is chairlift access to the skiing from both sides of the mountain. In Bischofsgrun there are three lifts serving trails with lighting for night skiing, and two with snow-making.

Ofterschwang in the Allgäu is the perfect destination for your winter vacation. The slopes can be groomed with snowmaking equipment and the pistes are suitable for all levels of difficulty.

Müggenbrünn is a small village made up of old Black Forest farmhouses. The skiing is on three mountains with reliable snow-cover thanks to the comparatively high altitude.
