The Cloud Gate is a rather fascinating public sculpture, created by the artist Anish Kapoor and situated in Millennium Park. The sculpture is more commonly known as The Bean because of its shape. It is made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together and the exterior is highly polished with no visible seams.

The Cloud Gate offers a walk around and underneath it, with the reflection and distortion of the Chicago’s famous skyline and the clouds above. Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture is among the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 66-feet long by 33-feet high.
