General info:

Avoriaz is a specially built ski village, right at the heart of the Portes du Soleil. A contemporary resort, the streets are closed to cars and all accommodation is accessible by ski. It's the streets themselves which are the ski slopes. From one valley to another, ski addicts in Avoriaz can be rest assured that the ski runs are 100% natural, safe and fun whilst at the same time zigzagging along the border of France and Switzerland. In Avoriaz, you can ski a whole week without skiing the same ski run twice, whatever your ability. Avoriaz receives a cumulative snowfall of more than 8 meters per winter, guaranteeing skiing throughout the whole season. Avoriaz's original snow park concept, private://The Stashprivate:// is built 100% from natural materials and meanders through the Lindarets forest. Made up of obstacles such as grind boxes, jumps and wall rides, the park is a veritable haven for all inspiring freestyle skiers or snowboarders. The idea was adopted from American resorts where ‘nu-Skool' skiing is integrated flawlessly into the natural environment in a safe and secure manner. If the kids are slowing you down or going too fast, the Annie Famose children's village welcomes children and teenagers from 3 to 16 years old. It's a great area for the younger generation to learn to ski or to snowboard. This specially built winter wonderland has qualified ski and snowboard instructors on hand offering courses from absolute beginner to backcountry and free ride skills courses for teenagers wanting to improve their technique whilst exploring the Portes du Soleil. For those who have never skied or people taking skiing back up, Avoriaz has dedicated an area called the “SOFTSKIprivate://. The pass allows people to learn or to relearn skiing safely on dedicated slopes at an appropriately reduced priced. Besides skiing and snowboarding Avoriaz has a very wide range of activities on offer: Sleigh rides, bowling, a cinema, hot air ballooning, ice diving, snow mountain biking, ice skating, a spa and a gym. Avoriaz has enough to satisfy even the most demanding of guests. Avoriaz is also famous for its nightlife. At nightfall lively Avoriaz has plenty of evening entertainment beginning with performances on the snow, continuing into the specialty restaurants and finally finishing up in the many pubs and nightclubs in the resort and surrounding area.
